Creator rooms

Creators open chat rooms of their own – public, members only or paid for a number of days – with rules, moderators and a log of what happened. Members join or buy access, write and get muted or removed by the room's team.

What a room is

A room is a chat of a creator, next to the global room and your direct chats. It has a name, a description, rules and its owner – the creator who opened it. Rooms you are in show up in your chat window's room list; a creator's open rooms are listed on their profile under Rooms.

Every room is one of three kinds:

Who can readHow you get in
EverybodyAnyone logged in reads along and joins with Join room
Members onlyThe owner or a moderator adds you; you get a notification with the link
PaidYou buy access for a number of days with Get access – see Paid rooms

Opening a room (creators)

Creators open a room with New room – under the room list in the chat window or in the Rooms section of their profile. A creator can have up to three rooms. The room button in the chat window's head opens the room's panel:

  • About – owner, who can read, members, description and rules.
  • Members – who is in. The owner and moderators add people by their handle.
  • Log – who joined, was added, made moderator, muted or removed, and which messages the team deleted.
  • Settings (owner) – name, description, rules, who can read, free or paid access, and Close room: a closed room stays readable for its members, but nobody can write any more until the owner reopens it.

A creator can make a room paid: under Access in the room's settings (or when opening it) choose Paid, set a price and the days per purchase – from 1 to 365. The price is in SOL, or fixed in USD: then a purchase costs the SOL worth that many dollars at that moment, like videos with USD pricing. Paid rooms are always members-only, and they are listed on the creator's profile with their price, so fans find them.

For fans it works like this:

  • Get access in the room (or in its panel) shows the price, the days and your wallet balance – if it is not enough, Open wallet lets you top up first. You pay from your BB Wallet; the creator gets their usual share, like for every sale.
  • Your access starts right away and runs for the room's days. Nothing renews by itself – three days before the end you get a notification, and Extend adds the days on top of the time you still have.
  • When the access has run out, the room is closed to you – messages included – until you buy again (Renew access). Moderators and members the owner adds by hand don't need to buy.

The purchase shows up under Orders (yours) and Sales (the creator's) as Room access, and both get a notification.

Badges

Small badges next to the names in a room show who is who:

BadgeMeaning
AdminThe room's owner – the creator who opened it
ModA moderator of the room
SupporterBought access to this room – after 30 days bought in total it shows the months: 1M, 3M, 6M, 12M

Badges always reflect the current state – a moderator who is no longer one loses the badge right away. They show up at the messages and in the room's member list.

Moderators

The owner makes members moderators (and takes it back). Owner and moderators keep the room tidy – on a message (···) or in the member list:

  • Delete message
  • Mute for an hour, a day or a week – muted members read but can't write
  • Remove from room – they can join a public room again
  • Ban from room – they can't come back until the ban is lifted

Moderators act on members; only the owner acts on moderators. Everything ends up in the room's log.

Writing in a room

Members write like in any chat – mentions, images, videos and offers work as everywhere. In a members-only room, @mentions only reach members. The rules are folded at the top of the room – open them before you write. To keep things calm, a member can post up to 20 messages a minute into rooms.

Leave room in the panel takes you out; the owner can't leave their own room – they close it instead.
