Coming drunk to intervention

The family and friends of 25-year-old Sarah had been planning an intervention for weeks. They were worried about her excessive drinking and the toll it was taking on her life. The group had gathered at Sarah's parents' house, nervously waiting for her to arrive.
As they sat in the living room, they heard the sound of the front door opening. But instead of walking in calmly, Sarah stumbled into the room - reeking of booze and almost falling over.
The group gasped in shock as Sarah staggered towards them, a bottle of vodka still clutched in her hand. Her eyes were glassy and unfocused, and she could barely string together a coherent sentence.
"I'm f-fine," Sarah slurred, waving her hand dismissively at the concerned faces around her. "I don't need any...intervention."
But it was clear that she did. Her friends and family exchanged worried glances as Sarah collapsed onto the couch - still clutching the vodka bottle.
One of her friends, Rachel, tried to gently pry the bottle out of Sarah's hand. But Sarah resisted - holding on tight as if it was a lifeline.
As the group tried to reason with her, Sarah became increasingly belligerent. She began to shout at them - accusing them of being "judgmental" and "controlling".
At one point, she even stood up - swaying precariously as she pointed a shaking finger at her mother.
"You're just jealous," Sarah slurred. "You're jealous that I'm having more fun than you."
The intervention had clearly not gone as planned. Instead of having a calm and rational conversation about Sarah's drinking problem - they were now dealing with a drunk and hostile person who refused to listen.
